Elegant vintage chinoiserie hall tree featuring a striking black lacquer finish, intricate hand-painted gold decoration, an integrated rectangular mirror, and a newly reupholstered mohair seat.
This distinctive piece showcases beautifully executed Asian-inspired artwork, including delicate gilt floral motifs and a charming figural landscape scene beneath the mirror. Additional hand-painted floral panels embellish the lower front and sides, creating a cohesive decorative design.
The tall, architectural silhouette is complemented by a subtly projecting crown, gracefully shaped armrests, and a compact upholstered bench. The seat has been freshly reupholstered in luxurious neutral-toned mohair, providing a sophisticated contrast to the rich black lacquer and warm gold accents.
Measuring just 24 inches wide, this versatile piece makes an elegant statement without occupying excessive floor space. Perfect for a refined entryway, dressing room, bedroom, or sophisticated foyer.
A wonderful example of vintage chinoiserie design, blending Asian-inspired decorative artistry with Hollywood Regency glamour.

The glossy black lacquer retains an attractive sheen, and the hand-painted gilt decoration remains beautifully preserved. The original mirror is clear and reflective, with cleaning recommended prior to use. The seat has been newly reupholstered in luxurious mohair fabric. Please review all photographs for additional condition details. Our inventory features a curated selection of vintage furnishings and decorative pieces, each with its own character, history, and age-related imperfections. As vintage items, condition will naturally vary, and signs of previous use—including minor wear, marks, finish variations, or other imperfections—may be present. These characteristics are part of the individuality and history of each piece. Photographs are provided as an important visual reference for condition, and we encourage buyers to review all images carefully. We believe the beauty of vintage lies not only in its design, but also in the character acquired through a previous life. A single image has been digitally staged to showcase potential placement and styling. The remaining photographs provide the most accurate representation of the piece’s condition, finish, and overall character. less
