The circular tilt-top is distinguished by its finely shaped piecrust edge, creating an attractive decorative silhouette while showcasing the rich colour and beautifully figured grain of the mahogany. The top is supported upon a substantial central pedestal with finely carved detailing, continuing into three gracefully shaped tripod legs. Each leg terminates in an elegantly carved foot, giving the table a particularly sculptural and sophisticated appearance. The traditional tilt-top mechanism allows the surface to be raised vertically when not in use, reflecting both the practical ingenuity and elegant design of Georgian furniture. The mahogany displays a rich, warm colour and attractive natural patina developed with age, further enhancing the character and visual depth of the piece. Presented in very good antique condition, retaining a solid and substantial construction. An elegant example of 18th-century Georgian furniture, ideal as a tea table, occasional table or decorative centre table within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
