The octagonal top creates an attractive geometric silhouette while providing a practical surface for a lamp, books, drinks or decorative objects. Its restrained form allows the natural beauty and figuring of the mahogany to remain particularly prominent. The table is supported upon a traditional central pedestal terminating in a tripod base, providing excellent stability while creating the graceful and balanced profile associated with fine 19th-century occasional furniture. Particularly appealing is the mahogany itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Deep, warm colour and a mature patina developed through generations of age and use give the timber considerable richness and authentic period character. The combination of the geometric octagonal top and sculptural tripod support gives the table a distinctive decorative presence despite its relatively small scale. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 19th-century origin. At only 52.5 cm wide, this is a particularly versatile and desirable period table, ideally suited as a side table, lamp table, occasional table or decorative accent beside an armchair or sofa. Its elegant proportions allow it to complement traditional, Regency-inspired and sophisticated contemporary interiors alike. Dimensions: Height: 72 cm Width: 52.5 cm Depth: 52.5 cm See less
