The upper section features a glazed display compartment fitted with two internal shelves, creating three useful display areas suitable for porcelain, glassware, collectibles or objets d'art while keeping the contents protected. Above, an attractive raised gallery adds height and architectural interest to the cabinet, giving the relatively compact piece a particularly distinctive silhouette. A useful single drawer is positioned beneath the glazed section, providing convenient concealed storage for smaller household or personal items. The lower section incorporates three open compartments, offering additional storage or display space for books, decorative objects and other larger items. This unusual combination of glazing, drawer storage and open compartments makes the cabinet particularly versatile. The piece is raised upon decorative shaped legs, creating an elegant and beautifully balanced appearance while adding further visual interest to the design. Particularly appealing is the mahogany itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Deep, warm colour and an appealing aged patina give the timber considerable richness and character. The cabinet retains its original key, preserving an attractive element of its period character. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. At only 54.5 cm wide and 38 cm deep, this is a particularly useful compact cabinet, providing considerable display and storage capacity without requiring excessive floor space. Ideally suited to a drawing room, dining room, hallway, study or sophisticated period interior. Dimensions: Height: 140 cm Width: 54.5 cm Depth: 38 cm Height Without Gallery: 110 cm See less
