The table features an attractive eight-sided top, giving the piece a more distinctive and decorative silhouette than a conventional rectangular side table. The surface displays particularly attractive mahogany grain with rich tonal variation and a wonderfully warm colour. The table is raised upon sturdy square-section legs, creating a well-balanced and restrained framework characteristic of practical Edwardian furniture. A useful shelf is incorporated into the lower section, providing additional space for books, magazines or decorative objects while also adding architectural interest to the overall design. Particularly appealing is the mahogany itself, displaying attractive natural figuring and a rich, warm tone throughout.
