The table features a well-proportioned rectangular top, providing a useful surface for a lamp, books, drinks or decorative objects. Its compact dimensions make it particularly adaptable for use throughout the home. Below, a distinctive shaped shelf adds both practical storage and decorative interest. The shelf is incorporated within the lower stretcher arrangement, which provides additional structural support while contributing to the table's attractive traditional character. The mahogany displays a beautiful natural grain throughout, complemented by a rich, warm colour and established patina that enhances the character of the timber. Measuring just 45 cm wide and 47 cm high, the table is an especially useful size and could be positioned beside a sofa or armchair, used as an occasional table, or placed within a bedroom, hallway or study. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A desirable and versatile example of traditional English furniture, combining beautifully aged mahogany, a decorative shaped lower shelf and compact proportions suitable for both period and contemporary interiors.
