The rectangular top is inset with a rich green leather writing surface finished with a traditional tooled border, providing an attractive and practical workspace while creating a refined contrast against the warm tones of the mahogany. A single drawer is positioned beneath the writing surface, providing useful concealed storage for stationery, correspondence and smaller items. It retains its original decorative brass handles, adding an attractive period detail to the restrained design. The table is raised upon four finely turned legs terminating in castors, creating an elegant and beautifully balanced silhouette while allowing the piece to be repositioned with relative ease. The mahogany displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout, complemented by deep, warm colour and an appealing aged character. Very well constructed and presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.

At 91.5 cm wide, this is a particularly versatile writing table, providing a comfortable workspace without requiring the footprint of a larger desk. Ideally suited to a home office, library, study, bedroom or sophisticated living space.
