The most striking feature is the tapering trapezoid-form top, subtly decorated with hand-incised geometric borders. This unusual shape gives the table a strong architectural quality and sets it apart from more conventional rectangular side tables of the period. The front incorporates a useful single drawer, carved with three repeating lunette or rising-sun motifs and fitted with a decorative rose-form wooden knob. Beneath the drawer is a gently shaped apron, while four ring-turned legs support a substantial full-width lower shelf for additional display or storage. The dark oak has developed a rich, atmospheric colour and attractive aged patina, with visible grain, historic surface wear and tonal variation throughout. Its versatile proportions make it ideal as a hall table, side table, lamp table, bedside table, drinks table or decorative display stand. Presented in honest antique condition with age-related marks, scratches, rubbing and surface variation consistent with its age and previous use. The piece has deliberately not been over-restored, preserving its established character and patina.
