Mimicking classic 17th-century William & Mary proportions on a beautifully scaled miniature level, this piece features finely carved spool and bobbin-turned legs and structural rails. The high, elegant out-scrolled side arms frame a padded seat expertly upholstered in its original red and cream vertically striped silk-blend fabric, finished with classic woven gimp trim and dark-patinated domed upholstery tacks.
The underside retains its traditional wide jute/burlap webbing with black accent stripes, reinforced with early triangular corner blocks and countersunk screws indicative of late-Victorian craft production. Perfectly sized for displaying antique French or German bisque dolls, or serving as a highly unique architectural conversation piece on a console, mantel, or deep bookshelf.
