The long pierced brass gallery is ornamented with three applied floral rosettes, including two larger medallions positioned toward either end and a smaller central rosette. Finely beaded borders run along the upper and lower edges, adding texture and refinement, while the shaped return ends create a traditional three-sided form designed to frame the hearth. The warm, naturally aged brass finish gives the piece considerable decorative character and would complement both period interiors and more contemporary settings. A handsome architectural accessory for a drawing room, library, study or living room fireplace. Presented in good, clean vintage condition with age-related surface marks, patination and wear consistent with age and use.
