The eagle is finely modelled throughout, with individually defined feathers across the body, wings and tail, a powerful hooked beak and realistically rendered talons gripping the naturalistic rock-form base. The dynamic stance gives the sculpture a commanding presence and captures the strength and majesty traditionally associated with this iconic bird of prey. Cast in durable aluminium, the sculpture is suitable for outdoor display and benefits from the material's natural resistance to rust. The surface has been finished with a richly variegated antique bronze-effect patina, incorporating darker tones and subtle verdigris-style highlights to accentuate the detailed modelling. At 71 cm high, the sculpture makes a substantial decorative statement and would be particularly effective positioned upon a gate pier, pedestal, entranceway or within a landscaped garden. It also works beautifully as a standalone sculpture or could be displayed as a pair to create a symmetrical architectural feature.
