The generously proportioned rectangular top provides a practical surface for a lamp, books or decorative objects while showcasing the attractive natural character and figuring of the oak. The table is raised upon finely turned legs united by a substantial supporting stretcher, providing excellent strength and stability while creating an elegant and traditionally proportioned silhouette. A particularly attractive feature is the lower shelf, which incorporates beautifully executed carved decoration and provides additional space for books, magazines or decorative objects. Intricate carving appears throughout the table, demonstrating considerable attention to detail and giving the piece a strong sculptural and decorative quality. The oak displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring, complemented by warm golden tones and a rich, mature patina developed through generations of age and use.
