The beautifully glazed front opens to reveal six adjustable internal shelves, creating seven generous display levels. The adjustable arrangement allows the interior to be configured to accommodate objects of varying heights, making the cabinet particularly suitable for displaying books, porcelain, glassware, collectibles, decorative objects or other treasured pieces. The cabinet retains its original key, adding to its authentic period character and practical appeal. Standing on a substantial plinth base, the cabinet has a strong and well-balanced architectural presence. Its restrained design allows the quality and natural beauty of the oak to remain a prominent feature. Throughout, the oak displays particularly attractive natural grain, rich warm colouring and established character. The quality of the timber and substantial construction reflect the high standard of craftsmanship evident across the piece. At an impressive 198.5 cm high, the cabinet provides considerable vertical display capacity while remaining only 84.5 cm wide, making excellent use of floor space. The combination of its tall proportions and six adjustable shelves makes it particularly versatile for a library, drawing room, dining room, study or sophisticated retail interior. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly desirable example of early 20th-century English cabinet furniture, combining richly grained oak, extensive glazing, six adjustable shelves, original key and substantial plinth base within an elegant and highly functional design.
