The jug features a beautifully proportioned panelled ovoid body surmounted by a finely hand-pierced gallery rail decorated with foliate motifs. The polished silver surface and restrained ornamentation give the piece a refined and timeless appearance. Raised upon a circular stepped pedestal base, the jug has a well-balanced profile and a gracefully shaped handle and pouring spout. Fully hallmarked for sheffield 1912, with some age-related rubbing to the marks while remaining legible. Crafted entirely in sterling silver, the jug has a substantial net silver weight of approximately 201.2 grams and a liquid capacity of approximately 260 ml. Presented in very good antique condition with no noted bruises, losses, holes, damage or repairs. It remains free from later engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms and retains a beautiful bright patina. The interior is clean, the jug is watertight and it is ready for use or display.
