Very well made and of good quality, this handsome cabinet provides an excellent setting for displaying collections, china, glassware, books and decorative objects while keeping them protected behind glass. The cabinet is arranged across three separate display levels, each accessed through practical sliding glass doors. This configuration provides excellent visibility of the contents while allowing each section to be accessed independently. The sliding glass doors are particularly useful, as they require no additional clearance when opened. Combined with the cabinet's remarkably shallow 22 cm depth, this makes the piece especially suitable for hallways, libraries and other areas where available floor space may be limited. A raised gallery runs along the top, providing an attractive architectural finishing detail and adding subtle traditional character to the otherwise clean and practical design. The cabinet stands on a substantial plinth base, giving it a sturdy and well-balanced appearance while complementing its generous width. The oak has matured beautifully, displaying attractive natural grain, rich warm colouring and appealing tonal variation throughout. Its established character gives the cabinet considerable visual warmth and complements the understated traditional design. Measuring 91.5 cm wide and 91 cm high while being only 22 cm deep, the cabinet provides considerable display capacity within an exceptionally economical footprint. The three display levels offer internal heights of approximately 22.5 cm, 24 cm and 26 cm, allowing a varied collection of objects to be arranged attractively. The combination of sliding glass doors, generous display capacity, shallow proportions, raised gallery and beautifully matured oak makes this a particularly versatile piece for a dining room, study, library, hallway or living space. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A highly practical and attractive oak display cabinet combining excellent display potential, space-saving sliding doors and beautifully matured timber within a timeless traditional design.
