Very well made and of good quality, the table has been thoughtfully proportioned to provide a practical surface while occupying relatively little floor space, making it especially suitable for narrower rooms, hallways or spaces alongside other furniture. The table is fitted with a single upper drawer, providing convenient storage for smaller household items. The drawer retains its original brass handles, which complement the warm colouring of the oak and add an attractive traditional detail to the design. It stands on elegantly turned legs united by a substantial supporting stretcher, creating a balanced and attractive silhouette while providing strength and stability to the construction. The oak displays beautiful natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation throughout. The matured character of the timber enhances the traditional appearance of the piece and gives it considerable visual warmth. Its relatively shallow 36 cm depth makes the table particularly versatile. It could function equally well as a side table, lamp table, occasional table or compact hallway table.
