The square top provides a practical and generously proportioned surface for a lamp, books, drinks or decorative objects while maintaining a particularly versatile footprint. The table is supported by a sturdy, substantial square-form base, giving the piece a strong architectural presence while providing excellent strength and stability. Its restrained construction creates an appealing balance between traditional craftsmanship and understated design. Particularly attractive is the oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Rich, warm tones and an appealing aged patina give the timber considerable depth and character. The simplicity of the design allows the quality, grain and natural beauty of the oak to remain the principal decorative features. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.

At approximately 51 cm square and 49.5 cm high, this is a particularly useful compact table, ideally proportioned for placement beside a sofa or armchair. It would work beautifully as a side table, lamp table, occasional table or decorative pedestal within traditional, country-house or contemporary interiors.
