The table features a generously proportioned rectangular top above a single practical drawer, retaining its original handle and providing convenient storage for smaller everyday items. Raised upon sturdy square legs, the table incorporates a useful lower shelf, offering additional space for books, magazines or decorative objects while also contributing strength and stability to the construction. Throughout, the oak displays an attractive natural grain with a rich, warm colour and established patina, highlighting the character of the timber and giving the piece an appealing traditional appearance. At 80 cm wide but only 37.5 cm deep, the table has particularly versatile proportions. Its relatively shallow depth allows it to sit comfortably against a wall or beside furniture without occupying excessive floor space. It would work equally well as a side table, lamp table, bedside table or occasional table. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly usable piece of period furniture, combining attractive aged oak, original hardware, practical drawer storage and a useful lower shelf in an understated and timeless design.
