Crafted in silver-plated metal, this unusual desk accessory combines the sporting character of golf memorabilia with the refined craftsmanship associated with traditional English writing instruments. The composition transforms the practical inkwell into a decorative sporting object, incorporating golfing motifs into the design to create an engaging and highly collectible desk piece. The sculptural arrangement gives the inkstand considerable character while retaining its original purpose as a functional writing accessory. Novelty inkstands became fashionable additions to well-appointed desks, studies and libraries, with sporting subjects offering an especially appealing combination of utility and personal interest.
