The cabinet displays a particularly refined and sophisticated appearance, with decorative brass mouldings and mounts applied throughout the exterior. These contrasting gilt-toned details beautifully complement the warm colouring of the walnut and give the piece considerable visual presence. Of particular note are the finely detailed figural brass corner mounts depicting a lady. These unusual decorative elements provide a distinctive focal point and demonstrate the attention to detail evident throughout the cabinet. Adding further interest is a cleverly concealed hidden drawer incorporated into the side of the cabinet. Discreetly integrated into the construction, this unusual feature provides additional storage while adding an appealing element of intrigue to the piece. The cabinet is raised upon graceful cabriole legs, giving the compact form an elegant and distinctly French silhouette.
