The tall standard presents a graceful and highly decorative silhouette, culminating in an intricately detailed sculptural element that forms a striking focal point. This unusual feature gives the lamp considerable individuality and demonstrates the artistic attention invested in its design. The copper displays attractive tonal variation and a naturally developed patina, giving the surface considerable warmth, depth and authentic antique character. The aged finish beautifully accentuates the sculptural detailing and contributes to the lamp's distinctive appearance. A classic white fabric shade completes the composition, providing an elegant contrast against the warm copper tones while allowing the decorative metalwork beneath to remain the principal visual feature. The lamp is supported upon a compact yet substantial 25 cm square base, providing stability without requiring excessive floor space. Standing 151 cm high, the piece has an impressive vertical presence and would work particularly well beside an armchair or sofa, or as atmospheric lighting within a drawing room, library, study or entrance hall. Importantly, the lamp has been professionally rewired and pat tested and is fully operational, allowing it to be incorporated into a contemporary interior while retaining its antique character. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 19th-century origin. A highly distinctive statement light combining practical illumination with sculptural decorative appeal, particularly suited to traditional, classical and sophisticated eclectic interiors.
