Pithey & … Read more A fine edwardian photograph frame dating to 1904, featuring a beautifully decorated sterling silver mount by **h. V. Pithey & co.** the silver mount is richly **hand chased with repoussé decoration**, depicting elegant swags, scrolling ornament and floral motifs characteristic of the decorative refinement of the edwardian period. A vacant cartouche provides a central decorative feature while remaining free from personalised engraving. The frame is also free from later presentation inscriptions or monograms. The reverse is fitted with an **easel back lined in purple silk velvet**, providing an attractive and luxurious finish while allowing the frame to stand securely for tabletop display. Fully hallmarked for **birmingham 1904**, the sterling silver mount bears the maker’s mark for h. V. Pithey & co. The frame retains its **original glass**, which was temporarily removed during some of the photography. With a **gross weight of approximately 139 grams**, this is an elegant example of early 20th-century english silver-mounted decorative ware. Presented in very good antique condition with only minor age-related surface marks. There are no noted bruises, damage or repairs, and the piece is clean and ready for use or display.
