The stool displays the streamlined geometric elegance characteristic of the Art Deco period, with broad shaped side supports, subtly curved profiles and stepped feet creating a strong architectural silhouette. A low stretcher provides additional stability while complementing the clean, symmetrical design. The warm golden tones and distinctive figuring of the birdseye maple give the piece considerable decorative appeal, contrasting elegantly with the ivory faux suede upholstered seat. The restrained upholstery allows the quality and natural pattern of the timber to remain the principal focus. Originally intended as a bedroom or dressing-table stool, its versatile proportions also make it suitable as an occasional seat, vanity stool or decorative accent piece. A stylish example of British Art Deco furniture combining luxurious materials, practical design and the distinctive geometric aesthetic of the period.
