The dog is depicted sitting upright and attentively, emphasising the breed’s characteristic slender proportions, elegant elongated neck, deep chest and refined silhouette. The smooth sculptural treatment gives the piece a sophisticated contemporary appearance while retaining the instantly recognisable form of a whippet or greyhound. Cast in aluminium and highly polished to a reflective silver finish, the sculpture catches and reflects surrounding light beautifully, creating an eye-catching focal point without the considerable weight associated with solid bronze or iron sculpture. Standing an impressive 68 cm high, this is a substantial decorative object particularly suited to a living room, entrance hall, study, dressing room or contemporary interior. It would also make an appealing statement piece for lovers and collectors of greyhounds, whippets and canine sculpture.
