This substantial piece is extensively hand-carved with African wildlife and naturalistic imagery, including elephants, birds, antelope or deer-like animals, tropical vegetation and landscape motifs. The decoration extends across the doors, sides and architectural upper canopy, giving the cabinet remarkable sculptural presence from virtually every angle. The upper section forms an impressive display cabinet with a full mirrored back, integrated lighting and substantial glass display shelf, creating an ideal setting for sculpture, ceramics, glassware, collectibles or decorative objects. When illuminated, the mirrored interior enhances both the displayed pieces and the intricate surrounding carving. Below are four generously proportioned cupboard doors, providing extensive concealed storage and making the piece as functional as it is decorative. At more than two metres wide, the cabinet has tremendous scale and would make an outstanding focal point within a large living or dining room, entrance hall, hospitality interior, collector's residence or globally inspired interior scheme. The cabinet is extremely heavy and substantially constructed, reflecting the considerable amount of timber and craftsmanship involved in its manufacture. Presented in good pre-owned condition with age-related marks and wear consistent with previous use.
