The table is supported by a substantial refectory-style base, giving the piece a strong architectural presence while providing excellent stability. Gothic-inspired carved decoration appears throughout the frame, adding depth and character to the design. Two useful drawers are incorporated into the front and retain their original handles, providing practical storage while maintaining the period character of the piece. The rectangular top is fitted with a small drop leaf at either end, allowing the width to increase from 106.5 cm when closed to an impressive 144 cm when fully extended. This adaptable configuration makes the table particularly versatile for use as a side table, occasional table, serving table or compact console. The oak displays attractive natural figuring, rich colour and a well-developed character throughout. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.
