Of elegant rectangular form, the casket is extensively decorated with flower heads, scrolling foliage and stylised neoclassical motifs, creating a richly textured surface across the lid and body. The finely worked relief catches the light beautifully, emphasising the warm golden finish and intricate modelling.

The design reflects the French Neoclassical Revival tradition, drawing inspiration from the symmetry, ornament and refined proportions of earlier 18th-century decorative arts.
