The exterior is extensively worked with a detailed rural scene depicting a **man on horseback**, surrounded by naturalistic landscape elements. The repoussé technique creates considerable depth and texture across the surface, giving the compact box a particularly decorative and sculptural appearance. The piece is impressed with various Dutch silver hallmarks, including the distinctive **key export mark**, used between 1853 and 1953 to identify silver objects designated for export. The hinged cover remains secure when closed, making the piece suitable for storing jewellery, keepsakes or other small precious objects. Crafted in silver, the box has a **net silver weight of approximately 85.2 grams**. Presented in very good antique condition with only minor age-related surface marks. There are no noted holes, bruises, damage or repairs, and the box remains free from later engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. A charming example of Dutch decorative silver, combining elaborate figural repoussé craftsmanship with an attractive rural equestrian subject.
