The bookcase incorporates three adjustable shelves, creating four useful storage and display areas. The adjustable configuration allows the spacing to be altered to accommodate books, decorative objects or collectibles of varying heights. Its open-fronted design provides easy access to the contents while giving the piece a light and understated appearance, making it particularly suitable for smaller interiors. The oak displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Rich, warm tones and an appealing aged patina highlight the natural beauty of the timber and give the bookcase considerable character. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.

Particularly notable is the exceptionally shallow 18 cm depth. Combined with a width of only 61 cm, this makes the bookcase especially useful where floor space is limited, including hallways, studies, bedrooms and smaller living spaces. A highly versatile example of traditional English furniture, offering practical adjustable storage within a remarkably compact footprint and equally suited to period or contemporary interiors.
