The table features a generously proportioned rectangular top above a single drawer, fitted with an attractive decorative handle. The drawer provides convenient storage for smaller everyday items while adding a subtle decorative element to the otherwise clean and restrained design. Raised upon elegant tapered legs, the table incorporates a useful lower shelf, providing additional space for books, magazines, decorative objects or other accessories. The combination of the drawer and open lower shelf gives the piece excellent functionality without compromising its simple, well-balanced appearance. Throughout, the beech displays an attractive natural grain and warm colour, giving the table considerable character and allowing the beauty of the timber to remain an important part of its design. At 76.5 cm wide, the table is particularly versatile. It could be used as a traditional side or occasional table, a lamp table, console-style table, or even as a compact writing table where space is limited. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A highly usable piece of vintage furniture, combining attractive beech, elegant tapered legs, practical storage and wonderfully adaptable proportions.
