The substantial porcelain body is decorated in the celebrated blue and white tradition, with rich cobalt decoration contrasting beautifully against the lighter porcelain ground. Twin dragon imagery provides the principal decorative theme, creating a dynamic composition across the generously proportioned body. The dragon is among the most significant motifs in Chinese decorative arts, traditionally associated with power, strength and auspicious fortune.
