Each square top is centred by a deeply carved architectural depiction of the Taj Mahal, surrounded by pierced latticework and elaborate scrolling floral decoration. Delicate brass inlay is worked throughout the borders and apron, creating a warm contrast against the dark rosewood. The tables stand on substantial turned and fluted legs, giving them an elegant architectural presence while complementing the richly decorated tops. The shaped edges and carved aprons further demonstrate the considerable hand craftsmanship involved in their production. An impressive matching pair that would work beautifully as side tables, occasional tables or bedside tables in both traditional and eclectic interiors. Material: Rosewood, brass inlay Measurements, each: Height: 48.3 cm Width: 53.3 cm Depth: 53.3 cm Condition: Very good overall condition with minor variations and signs consistent with handcrafted construction.
