The upper section is fitted with a pair of glazed doors enclosing two internal shelves, providing an ideal space for displaying books, decorative objects or a collection. The doors retain their original key, while a subtle raised gallery and carved foliate corner details provide an attractive decorative finish. Below, the substantial base is arranged with two panelled cupboard doors. The interior provides particularly useful concealed storage, incorporating four small drawers together with an additional shelf. The bookcase displays attractive mahogany grain throughout, with moulded detailing to the doors and a sturdy plinth base completing the traditional Victorian design. Both decorative and highly practical, it would make an excellent addition to a library, study, living room or period interior. The bookcase separates into two principal sections, making transportation and installation considerably easier. Presented in good antique condition, with age-related wear and character consistent with its 19th century origin.
