The table features an attractively proportioned top displaying particularly appealing natural figuring, allowing the depth, movement and warm tonal variation of the mahogany to become a prominent decorative feature. Decorative detailing throughout gives the table a refined and elegant character while retaining the understated proportions that make small occasional tables of this type so versatile. The mahogany displays a rich, warm colour and attractive natural grain throughout, enhanced by an established patina that gives the piece considerable depth and character. Its slender proportions and relatively small footprint make this an exceptionally versatile piece of furniture.

At just 46 cm wide, it can be positioned comfortably alongside an armchair or sofa, beside a bed, within a hallway or used simply as a decorative accent table. The 69.5 cm height also makes it particularly practical as a lamp table or occasional table for displaying sculpture, ceramics, flowers or other decorative objects. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. An attractive and highly usable piece of English mahogany furniture, combining elegant decoration, beautifully figured timber and compact proportions.
