An extraordinary and rare set of four "Chat" series barrel back lounge armchairs, designed by Umberto Asnago and manufactured by the prestigious Italian luxury atelier Giorgetti Giorgetti Italian Brand during the 1980s. This masterful design strikes a flawless balance between postmodern geometry and historical Vienna Secession aesthetics. Each armchair features a semi-circular, barrel-shaped frame meticulously crafted from solid beechwood, finished in a sophisticated black stain that beautifully reveals the natural wood grain. The dramatic backrest is characterized by a rhythmic architectural grid of slender vertical slats, creating an elegant play of light, shadow, and negative space. The curved structure integrates seamlessly into low-profile armrests that envelop the deep, comfortable seat. The chairs retain their original padded seats upholstered in a muted dusty rose/salmon velvet or velour fabric, adding a soft, textural contrast to the graphic black frames. Ideal as a complete club seating arrangement for a salon, an upscale reception space, or as striking host chairs around a modernist dining table. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
