The upper section features a glazed display compartment fitted with two adjustable shelves, allowing the interior configuration to be adapted to accommodate objects of varying heights. It provides an attractive setting for books, porcelain, glassware, collectibles or objets d'art. The lower section incorporates a double-door cupboard opening to reveal a fixed internal shelf, providing generous concealed storage. An additional drawer offers convenient space for smaller household or personal items. The cabinet retains its original brass handles and fittings, providing attractive period detailing and complementing the deep, warm tones of the mahogany. Particularly striking is the extensively carved front, featuring finely executed decorative detailing that gives the cabinet considerable depth and visual interest while demonstrating the quality of craftsmanship invested in its construction. The cabinet is raised upon traditional bracket feet, providing a substantial and beautifully balanced foundation for its tall, slender form. The mahogany itself displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Deep, rich colour and a mature patina developed through generations of age and use give the timber considerable warmth and authentic antique character. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 19th-century origin. For easier transportation and installation, the cabinet separates into two principal sections. Standing 194 cm high while measuring only 72 cm wide, this is a particularly versatile period cabinet, providing considerable display and storage capacity within a relatively compact footprint. Ideally suited to a drawing room, dining room, library, hallway or distinguished period interior. Dimensions: Height: 194 cm Width: 72 cm Depth: 51 cm Worktop Height: 89.5 cm See less
