Very well made and of good quality, this attractive cabinet provides an elegant setting for displaying treasured ornaments, glassware, ceramics and collectibles while occupying relatively little floor space. The front is fitted with a beautifully glazed door, allowing the contents to remain clearly visible while keeping displayed objects protected. The interior contains two glass shelves, creating three generous display levels while maintaining a light and open appearance. The use of glass shelving allows light to travel throughout the cabinet and ensures that displayed objects remain the principal visual focus. The cabinet retains its original key, an appealing surviving feature that contributes further character to the piece. Raised on graceful cabriole legs, the cabinet has an elegant and well-balanced silhouette. Their flowing form complements the compact proportions of the cabinet above and introduces a refined traditional element to the overall design. The mahogany displays gorgeous natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation throughout. Its matured appearance provides considerable depth and character while highlighting the quality of the timber. Its compact proportions are particularly desirable. Measuring only 63 cm wide and 30.5 cm deep, the cabinet provides useful vertical display capacity without requiring excessive floor space, making it especially suitable for smaller rooms, hallways or areas where space may be limited. The combination of a glazed door, two glass shelves, original key, elegant cabriole legs and richly coloured mahogany creates a particularly attractive and versatile display piece. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A highly desirable small mahogany display cabinet combining elegant proportions, practical glazed display space and beautifully matured timber within a timeless traditional design.
