"Thea" serving trolley designed by Yngve Ekström, 1960s, in oak and teak, with a black laminate central shelf and drop-leaf doors.
"Thea" serving trolley, designed by Yngve Ekström, a key figure in Swedish modernism and co-founder of Swedese. This 1960s version combines a solid oak frame with teak shelves: the center of the black laminate upper shelf features a drop-leaf door with a carved handle, which folds down to save space. Introduced in 1954, the Thea model was designed by Yngve Ekström for Swedese, a company he founded in 1945 with his brother Jerker Ekström and Bertil Sjöqvist. The black laminate creates a perfect, sturdy support for serving dishes and beverages without the risk of damaging the wood. Tapered legs with exposed brass screws, teak bottom shelf, and metal caster wheels. "Made in Denmark" written under the bottom shelf. Good condition. May show signs of wear.
