The table features a well-proportioned top providing a practical surface for a lamp, books, drinks or decorative objects. Its restrained design allows the natural beauty and quality of the mahogany to remain an important feature of the piece. Below, the supports are united by a decorative stretcher arrangement, providing additional strength and stability while adding visual interest to the lower section of the table. This creates a balanced and elegant silhouette characteristic of quality Edwardian occasional furniture. Throughout, the mahogany displays particularly attractive natural grain with a rich, warm colour and established patina, enhancing the character and timeless appeal of the piece. Its compact footprint is particularly desirable.

Measuring approximately 40 cm square and standing 70.5 cm high, the table can be positioned easily beside an armchair or sofa without occupying excessive floor space. Its versatile proportions make it ideally suited for use as a lamp table, occasional table, bedside table or decorative side table within a drawing room, bedroom, hallway or study. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.
