"Thea" serving trolley by Yngve Ekström, Sweden, 1950s/1960s: white painted frame, teak and laminate shelves, foldable drop-down table.
"Thea" serving trolley, designed by Yngve Ekström, a key figure in Swedish modernism and co-founder of Swedese. Introduced in 1954, the Thea model was designed by Yngve Ekström for Swedese, the company he founded in 1945 with his brother Jerker Ekström and Bertil Sjöqvist. The wooden frame, with tapered legs and curved joints secured with exposed screws, features an original white paint finish. At the center of the water-resistant white laminate top is a teak drop-down table with a carved handle, which folds down to save space. The lower shelf is made of teak, with turned handrails and metal swivel wheels. Good condition. May show signs of wear. Please refer to the photographs. This piece has an attribution mark,
