Dimensions: height 96 cm, diameter 78 cm. Total weight: 209 kg.

The name maru-yukimi-dōrō (snow-viewing lantern) refers to its round roof and the sight of snow resting on it in winter. Beneath the roof, the rafters are carved into the stone. The round light chamber has a crescent-shaped opening and three openwork windows with a diamond pattern. A leaf relief decorates the platform below, while the three curved legs give this substantial piece a surprising lightness.

The soft grey-beige stone and darker traces of weathering look beautiful beside a pond, along a garden path or among greenery. Even without a light, it is a striking garden ornament.

In lovely condition, with natural weathering and light signs of use consistent with an object kept outdoors.

The lantern consists of five separate pieces.
