The table features a square-form top displaying attractive natural figuring and rich tonal variation. Delicate satinwood inlay provides an elegant decorative contrast against the darker mahogany, highlighting the perimeter of the top and reflecting the refined decorative cabinetmaking associated with the Edwardian period. A useful single drawer is incorporated beneath the tabletop, providing discreet storage for smaller household or personal items. The drawer retains its original brass handles, an attractive period feature that complements the warm colour of the mahogany. The table is raised upon four elegant tapered legs, united by stretchers that provide additional structural stability while maintaining the light and graceful appearance of the piece. Positioned centrally between the stretchers is a small lower shelf, providing an additional surface for displaying a decorative object, books or other smaller items.
