A newly refinished 1950s mid century modern exoskeletal twelve drawer walnut chest of drawers with brass hardware by Mount Airy Furniture Company.
The case is suspended within a framework of tapered legs, with three rows of drawers above the central support beam and one row below. The beveled edge around the top provides a visual accent that echoes the geometry of the legs, while the overhanging top gives the piece a subtle pagoda-like profile.
The dresser has been expertly refinished and shows beautifully. One very faint water ring remains visible on the top on close inspection. The brass is in original condition with 70+ years of patina.
This piece is unmarked. The attribution to Mount Airy is by industry consensus.
