An iron X-lattice surrounds the round body beneath aged white marble, with antique brass rosettes marking each crossing. The form is the library drum table of the early 1800s, translated whole into metal and stone.
At 24 inches across and 29 high it stands taller than most accent tables, which suits a high-armed sofa, a bedside, or a lamp between two windows. The top takes a lamp, drinks, and a short stack of books without argument.
Iron and marble both improve with age, and both finishes here begin looking as if they already have some. Few small tables carry this much architecture.
