The vessel is designed with a broad cylindrical body, defined rounded shoulders, and a wide, straight neck terminating in a smooth, cut and polished rim. As light strikes the translucent blue walls, the embedded white threading creates contrasting depth and movement throughout the entire volume of the form. Manufactured by verreries de masnières in northern france, probably in the 1930s, this piece represents early-twentieth-century french workshop art glass. The vase was mouth-blown, with the contrasting white glass canes applied during the gathering process and subsequently drawn out as the bubble expanded in the furnace. Tiny scattered air bubbles and minor organic variations in wall thickness are visible within the blue ground, characteristic hallmarks of individual artisan production. The underside displays an applied circular glass seal prunt embossed in relief with the workshop's 'm' above 'v' monogram. This applied maker's mark rests directly within the recessed base, where the trailing white glass ribbons converge and conclude in soft loops around the pontil area. The vessel stands 22 cm in height with an overall diameter of 15 cm, supported by a thick, weighted base that lends balance to the proportions. The optical effect changes with varying lighting conditions, shifting from deep marine blue around the lower foot to a radiant cyan across the main body. The trailing white glass ranges from solid, crisp bands to delicate, semi-translucent wisps where stretched thin by the glassmaker's tools. Such expressive trailing techniques were a hallmark of interwar decorative glassware from northern france.
