Modelled with classical and Middle Eastern influence, the figure wears a loose, gathered tunic draped across one shoulder and cinched at the waist, along with a wrapped headpiece. The facial features, trimmed beard, bare limbs, and anatomical definition throughout the torso and legs are rendered with crisp sculptural detail. The decoration employs an earthy palette typical of late nineteenth-century Austrian art ceramics. The skin areas carry a soft flesh-toned gloss glaze that contrasts with the matte, textured buff and tan tones across the drapery. Deep umber and shaded washes accentuate the folds and motion of the fabric, while the rocky support behind the figure transitions from warm ochre to rich olive-brown.

The integral square-cut pedestal features repeating classical anthemion motifs highlighted with gilt and dark borders around the bevelled lower plinth. Produced in Austria by Ernst Wahliss around 1895, this substantial figure measures 44 cm in height with a 16 cm square footprint. The unglazed underside of the hollow base bears the blue printed factory mark showing an imperial crown above the initials 'EW' over 'Turn Wien' and 'Made in Austria', accompanied by the French word 'DÉPOSÉ' indicating a registered design. Painted and impressed workshop numbers, including 136 over 6, are also clearly visible beside the backstamp. Constructed in slip-cast porcelain, the sculpture demonstrates the technical complexity characteristic of Turn-Teplitz manufacture. The rocky support serves an essential structural function, anchoring the slender barefoot stance of the tall figure while integrating directly into the architectural plinth. The hollow vessel under the arm and the delicate cup held at hip level required precise multi-part assembly before firing. Displayed either in a glazed cabinet or as a standalone tabletop piece, the dynamic posture offers visual interest from multiple viewing angles. The figure remains in sound antique condition, retaining crisp detail to the fingers, toes, and facial expression. The painted and glazed surfaces preserve their original tones without significant wear, presenting an authentic example of historic Austrian ceramic craftsmanship from the Turn-Teplitz region.
