An exquisite decorative wall mirror by Maitland-Smith, showcasing an elaborate combination of sculptural ornamentation, classical detailing, and contrasting black and gold finishes.
The rectangular mirror is surrounded by an ornate openwork frame featuring sweeping scrolls, beautifully modeled acanthus leaves, and richly gilded decorative accents. A magnificent central foliate crest rises above the frame, flanked by graceful scrolling branches and additional gilt embellishments.
The dramatic black framework provides a sophisticated contrast to the warm gold ornamentation, accentuating the intricate relief work and architectural silhouette. Additional foliate details extend along the sides and lower corners, culminating in a decorative flourish beneath the mirror.
Inspired by classical European decorative arts, the design brings a sense of grandeur and refinement to traditional, Neoclassical, Hollywood Regency, and eclectic interiors.
Perfect for an elegant entryway, formal living room, dining room, or above a console, this substantial mirror serves as both a functional furnishing and an impressive decorative statement.
