This Closson's vintage wall mirror features a large, rectangular clear glass panel enclosed by a wide, elaborately decorated composite frame with strong Baroque and Rococo design influences. The frame showcases a heavily textured, distressed antiqued champagne gilt finish that emphasizes its dense, high-relief carved detailing. The main body of the border is filled with a continuous, repeating pattern of elegant foliate arabesques and stylized acanthus leaf scrollwork, framed on both the inner and outer perimeters by raised, multi-tiered molded trim with fine beaded borders and mottled faux-aging. On the reverse side, the solid brown backing board retains an authentic, original green-and-white paper manufacturer label from Closson's retail showroom located at 421-423 Race Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, noting the company's historical establishment date of 1866.
