Crafted in the mid-to-late 20th century, each candle holder depicts a stylized Chinese acrobat performing a contorted handstand, masterfully balancing an ornate, gilded taper candle cup on the soles of their feet.
The figures feature delightful hand-painted details, including traditional black tunics, vibrant red waist sashes, and meticulously dotted trousers. Brilliant gold-leaf style accents adorn the candle cups and shoulder epaulets, catching the candlelight beautifully.
With their playful movement and sculptural silhouette, this pair perfectly embodies the Hollywood Regency and eclectic Boho-Chic aesthetics. They make an exceptional conversation piece for a fireplace mantel, dining table centerpiece, or entryway console. See less
