A charming French Louis XVI style writing desk dating to circa 1920, crafted in cherrywood and finished in a softly painted, gently patinated surface. Its warm tan leather inset creates an inviting contrast with the pale finish; while the clean rectangular form, fluted details, and slender tapered legs reflect the restrained neoclassical lines of the Louis XVI style. The single drawer retains its original brass hardware, and brass caps finish the feet.
Elegant and compact, this desk works beautifully as a writing table, bedroom desk, or occasional table, bringing a touch of French neoclassical character to a study, living room, or entry.
This piece is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
